Cookie Policy
What cookies this site uses, what they do, and how to change your mind. This sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
We do not run advertising on this site and set no advertising cookies. Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies — local storage, pixels and tags — do much the same job. We use the word “cookies” for all of them here.
Your choices
When you first visit, a banner asks what you are happy with. Strictly necessary cookies are always on because the site cannot work without them. Everything else is off until you agree.
You can change your choices at any time using the Manage consent control shown on every page, and you can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it.
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary — always on
These make the site function: keeping items in your basket, remembering you through checkout, keeping your account session secure, and remembering your cookie choice. No consent is needed for these.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart | ctg.org.uk | Keeps your basket contents accurate | Session |
| wp_woocommerce_session_* | ctg.org.uk | Links you to your basket and order data | 2 days |
| wordpress_logged_in_* | ctg.org.uk | Keeps you signed in to your account | Session |
Consent cookies (names beginning cmplz_) | ctg.org.uk | Remembers your cookie choices and which version of this policy you agreed to, so you are not asked again on every page | 12 months |
Analytics — only with your consent
These tell us which pages people read and where they give up, so we can fix what is not working. We do not use them to identify you.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_XVMHMW1CSH | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes visitors and sessions to measure site usage | Up to 2 years |
| sbjs_* (Source Buster) | WooCommerce | Records how you arrived at the site so orders can be attributed to a marketing source | 6 months |
Functional — only with your consent
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session storage used by the reviews widget | cdn.trustindex.io | Displays our Google reviews and briefly caches them so the widget does not refetch on every page. It sets no cookies. | Cleared when you close the tab |
How blocking works
Until you consent, the analytics tag is not loaded at all — the script is held inert in the page and only runs if you agree to analytics cookies. Declining means it never loads.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings — every major browser has controls under Privacy or Site settings, and most offer a “delete on close” option. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break the basket and checkout.
To opt out of Google Analytics across all sites, Google publishes a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Changes
We re-scan the site periodically and update this list when it changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
