What is a Level 2 NVQ?

A Level 2 NVQ Diploma is a nationally recognised, on-site competence qualification for tradespeople already working in a construction trade. Assessment is based on your day-to-day work, reviewed by a qualified assessor against industry standards, so it fits around live site work rather than classroom exams.

Who it’s for: operatives with hands-on trade experience, gained through an apprenticeship, employment, or our experienced worker route, who need formal certification to apply for their Blue CSCS Skilled Worker card.

How it works: we match you with an assessor local to your site, build a portfolio of evidence from your existing work, and carry out on-site observations. Most candidates complete within a few weeks depending on experience and available evidence.

Where it leads: once achieved, your Level 2 NVQ supports your application for the Blue CSCS Skilled Worker card, and many learners progress to a Level 3 NVQ for advanced craft or supervisory roles.
