Level 6 Construction Management NVQs

Level 6 Construction Management NVQs

A Level 6 construction management NVQ costs £1,300 fixed with no VAT. CTG offers two GQA Level 6 NVQ Diplomas: Construction Site Management (610/1272/5) and Construction Contracting Operations Management (610/3746/1), with eight manager pathways between them. There are no exams and no classroom — you are assessed on the management work you already do, by remote or on-site assessment with an e-portfolio, nationwide. Most managers complete in 4–8 weeks, and both qualifications support the application for the Black CSCS Manager card.

How the Level 6 assessment works

1Register and get matched with a construction management assessor
2Build your e-portfolio from real project evidence — no exams, no coursework padding
3Remote or on-site assessment around your working week, nationwide
4GQA certificate issued — apply for your Black CSCS Manager card

Typical completion is 4–8 weeks. CITB-registered employers may be able to claim a £600 achievement grant on Level 6 NVQs — see NVQ funding and CITB grants.

All eight Level 6 manager pathways

Why a Level 6 NVQ instead of a degree route?

The NVQ proves management competence with evidence from the sites and contracts you already run, which is why CSCS accepts it as the qualification route to the Black Manager card. There is nothing to attend and nothing to sit: your assessor collects evidence remotely or on-site around your job. If you are currently supervising rather than managing, start with the Level 4 Construction Site Supervision NVQ and step up; if you already operate at director level, look at the Level 7 Construction Senior Management NVQ.
