This qualification is designed for individuals working in road surfacing and pavement construction, specifically in laying flexible pavement materials. It is assessed in a real workplace environment, ensuring candidates demonstrate practical skills and competency to industry standards.

Assessment Areas:

•  Interpret Technical Information – Understand and apply details from drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Health & Safety Compliance – Follow safety regulations, handle materials and equipment correctly, and adhere to risk assessments and procedures.
• Resource Selection & Use – Choose and properly handle the correct tools, materials, and equipment for the job.
• Efficient & Safe Working Practices – Protect work areas, minimize damage, dispose of waste responsibly, and meet productivity targets.
• Pavement-Laying Skills – Measure, mark out, lay, compact, and finish flexible pavement materials while working around street furniture and infrastructure.

Assessment Method:
